Robert Adams
Robert is an experienced academic, consultant, author and conference speaker. He is highly committed to ethical practice, and has carried out UK-wide as well as locally-based consultancies with many public service organisations and agencies since 1990, including the Open University, Skills for Care and local authority Children’s Services departments. His main work lies in learning materials development, management development and the participation of citizens (children and adults) in public services.

Denise Bevan
Denise is a qualified and experienced social worker and family therapist with many years’ experience in hospice work and child and adolescent mental health services. She has particular interests in how grief and loss issues affect not only individuals and families throughout the life course, but also organisations. She is able to adapt her expertise in working with individuals and families to to assist organisations in dealing with matters related to grief and trauma.
Denise is the author of several articles and book chapters and has experience in teaching at university level in subjects related to palliative care, grief and loss.

Lorna Brookes
Lorna is a research psychologist with a specialism in reviewing the resettlement needs of prisoners, and the effects of imprisonment on children and families. She has worked closely with a range of prisoners, including young offenders, prisoners of retirement age, women, men, and sex offenders, and has provided training for prison officers, governors and staff. She has presented much of her research at conferences nationally and internationally. This has included keynote speaking for European Partnerships.

Ian Crompton
Ian Crompton is a lecturer, trainer, facilitator and consultant. Primarily his field is social care. He brings over 10 years’ experience as a fieldworker in statutory social work. During this period he worked with numerous client groups in a generic intake team and long-term team specialising in working with children and families; working with adults with learning disabilities and older people. However, his main area of interest has been in the mental health field, having previously worked as an Approved Social Worker.

Suki Desai
Suki has had a long career in social work practice and education. Her specific area of interest is mental health. She has worked as a mental health practitioner within psychiatric hospital, community mental health team and, more recently, was appointed as regional director for the Mental Health Act Commission (now part of the Care Quality Commission). She has served as a lay person on Mental Health Review Tribunals and has contributed to mental health projects within the voluntary sector. She is one of the original members of the Leicester Black Mental Health group and was involved in setting up of the Mental Health Shop (now known as Akwaaba-ayeh), a voluntary sector project providing advocacy service and advice to black ethnic minority people in Leicester.

Bernard R. Moss
Bernard is a trainer, consultant and mediator of many years’ standing, highly valued for his wealth of experience and expertise and his high level of skill in putting his message across.
For many years he has been Professor of Social Work Education and Spirituality at Staffordshire University where he has developed a well-deserved reputation for excellence. His election as a Senior Fellow and National Teaching Fellow with the Higher Education Academy are testimony to the quality of his work and how well respected he is in his field. In particular, his work on spirituality in the workplace has been very well received.

Patrick Tomlinson
Patrick is a consultant, adviser and interim manager to organisations providing services for children and others in the social care sector. In addition, he provides a consultancy and assessment service to all sectors for the purposes of staff selection and development. He has over 23 years’ experience in this field of working as a strategic director, operational manager and therapist.
