Equality and Diversity DVD
Neil Thompson on PCS Analysis
The DVD is a 35-minute presentation by Professor Neil Thompson, author of best-selling texts on the subjects of equality and diversity. His work on 'PCS analysis' has become a mainstay of teaching on many degree courses. His ideas have been highly praised for producing a coherent analytical framework that helps us understand that discrimination is not simply a matter of individual prejudice. The reality is much more complex than this in that discrimination operates at three separate but interconnected levels: Personal, Structural and Cultural (hence the term PCS analysis).

The DVD is an aid for training facilitators, tutors and teachers involved in helping people to appreciate the complexities of discrimination. It is intended to help learners to be in a stronger position to avoid the difficulties of oversimplification that have dogged efforts to promote equality over the years.
Professionally produced by Frozen Moon Productions, the DVD also contains additional files with suggestions about how the presentation can be used as a teaching tool, together with other learning materials.
The DVD complements well the exercises to be found in the Promoting Equality, Valuing Diversity learning and development manual written by Neil Thompson and published by Russell House Publishing.
